TCL enters a new era, on occasion of 35 year anniversary

IFA 2016 comes at a special time for TCL, for this year marks the 35th anniversary of the Corporation growing from a local joint venture to a global giant in home appliances. The company came in 3rd in the world rank of the LCD TV market and 5th in the world in the mobile phone market. It is now part of the 10 largest tablet manufacturers.

With decades of dedication to investing in people, technology and innovation, the company has accumulated substantial prowess to lead the high-end segment with a range of most innovative products that are going to be showcased at IFA this year.

TCL will be demonstrating its efforts to gain a foothold in the high-end TV segment. Commenting on TCL’s overseas strategy, Tomson Li, Chairman and CEO of TCL Corporation, said, “To follow the trend created by other brands and to compete with lower price won’t make us survive in the new era. We will lead the market with innovative products and groundbreaking offerings.”

The TV Xclusive X1 is the epitome of such a product that presents TCL’s latest technologies and will compete with high-end LCD TVs from other established brands.

The 65” 8K UHD Curved TV

The 65” 8K UHD Curved TV would definitely be another eye-catcher featuring a panel produced by CSOT Panel Factory which offers eight times the pixel count of full HD resolution and active 3D function.

CSOT Panel Factory

In recent years, with active vertical integration, particularly the integration of the leading display producer China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT), and the establishment of global plants in Poland, Mexico and Vietnam, TCL has been able to gain technological advantages and expand global presence. CSOT currently owns two Gen 8.5 and one Gen 6 LCD production lines, which can produce panels as large as 55", while the world’s largest Gen 11 line, which is in the plan, will be used to economically cut even larger-size displays, allowing TCL to take the lead in the large-sized TV market. The G11 Project will use oxide semiconductor, Cu process, POA, Super GOA technology, and OLED Printing technology to produce 43", 65", 70" (21:9), 75" LCD displays, ultra-large public displays as well as OLED displays. By synergizing upstream and downstream business units, TCL benefits from a vertically integrated supply chain that not only gives the company cost advantages over competitors, but also enhances the risk management capability to survive against industry’s periodical recessions.
