If you are planning to buy an air conditioner for your home, it is important to know what type of AC system will suit your needs and budget. Depending on their star rating, these ACs have different energy consumption levels, noise levels, and durability.
The star rating system was introduced by the US Department of Energy (DOE) in 1992 and has been adopted by most other countries. It is a measure of energy efficiency and indicates the cooling capacity of an air conditioner. The higher the star rating, the better its cooling performance. The range of the star rating system is 1 star to 5 stars. A five-star rated unit will deliver superior performance and consume up to 40% less electricity than an ordinary three-star model.
The 5-star AC is a bit more costly than the 3-star ACs. If you are looking for an air conditioning system that costs less and can cool your home well, then you should opt for a 3-star AC. It will be cheaper but still very efficient in cooling the room or home.
A major reason for this higher price tag is because of their better technology and quality components. They are equipped with advanced features like variable speed fans, inverter compressors, etc., which help them operate at peak performance levels even under low voltage conditions or in hot weather conditions.
Noise levels are also a factor to consider when choosing an air conditioner. While 3-star air conditioners tend to be noisier than the 5-star variety, they don't necessarily produce high levels of sound. In fact, 5-star ACs usually have lower sound levels than their counterparts because they have better insulation, which means they do not need to work as hard to push air around your home. This means that if you want your AC unit to operate quietly, then you might want to look into getting a 5-star unit instead of a 3-star one.
3-Star ACs consume more power than 5-Star AC. If you opt for a 3-star system, you may notice that your utility bills are higher than with a 5-star system. The reason for this is simple: these systems work harder to cool your home and use more energy in the process.
5-star ACs have a better EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) of 10.0 compared to 3-star ACs with an EER of 8.5 (1). A higher EER means that less energy is wasted during operation, which translates into lower electricity bills for you!
This means that if you want to save on your electricity bills, then you might want to go ahead and get a 5-star AC instead of a 3-star one. The difference in energy consumption between the two types of units is not very significant, but it’s definitely there. In fact, if you have a 5-star AC unit installed in your home and you leave it on all day long, then it will consume less power than a 3-star unit would consume.
5-star units have higher cooling capacity compared with those of lower ratings. This means they are able to cool larger spaces faster than 3-star ones do; however, this doesn’t mean that all 5-star models can cool large areas instantly because there are several factors involved such as room size and insulation levels among others also play an important role when determining whether or not a particular model will be effective at keeping rooms cool throughout hot days without having trouble staying within its designated temperature range (considering these things before buying one).

The way 5-star ACs work is by using a thermoelectric device that creates electricity when two different metals are connected together with an electrical current running through them. This generates enough heat to convert water into vapor and send it through a pipe coil in the condenser, where it cools off and turns back into liquid form.
The 3-star AC uses an older technology called a vapor-compression cycle, which uses a compressor instead of thermoelectric devices to create electricity (the compressor is similar to those used in cars). This uses more energy than 5-star ACs do and produces more pollution—which can lead to higher utility bills for you!
So, the question arises: Which AC should you buy?
You must consider your electricity consumption and durability before making your final decision. While 3-star air conditioners are cheaper than 5-star air conditioners, they are less durable and consume more electricity. On the other hand, 5-star air conditioners have a higher ISEER rating but cost more than 3-star air conditioners.
If budget is a concern and you don't mind spending a little more on your electricity bills, then 3-star ACs are probably your best bet. But if you're looking for something with a higher ISEER and more durability, 5-star ACs are definitely worth considering.
