At TCL we have chosen to offer a high level of innovation with excellent value for money. By making such quality technology accessible to the greatest number of people and taking part in their daily lives, we also choose to develop products that enable consumers to make the most of them while developing a more responsible lifestyle. Every day, we support them in adopting the right gestures for their optimal use.

A responsible logistic model relying on vertical integration

TCL high-level and reliable technology, assembled in our European factory

Through its vertically integrated model, TCL can offer the best throughout the production chain. It also allows us to work to reduce the impact of our production on the environment by gradually developing and using clean energy, conducting energy saving and emission reduction projects to support our sustainable development.

With 5594 patents filed in 2020, TCL offers the best of technological innovation around the world while being close to its European consumers. Many of our products are assembled in our TCL Operation factory in the heart of the continent, in Poland.

The parts that make up our TVs are manufactured in our factories amongst which two of the new sites are rated with the highest distinction of the LEED label (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). In the same way, TCL acts on its logistic chain by ensuring nearly 80% of the transport of these parts from one continent to another using the traditional silk route, by rail. The last few kilometres between our logistic hub and distribution countries are done by road. These routes are subject to continuous optimisation thanks to the development of intermediate warehouses to get closer to final consumers and our truck loading practices: combining finished products and spare parts, three-quarters of our trucks transit fully loaded.

Fulfilling our responsibility all along product lifecycle

Our responsibility as a manufacturer today is to offer the highest level of technology in terms of both performance and reliability. In addition to the care that TCL takes in the manufacture of its products, a comprehensive continent-wide after-sales service has been put in place to ensure a long service life through product repair. It relies on multi-channel contact, remote diagnosis by technicians, repair service, as well as a centralised stock of spare parts kept for up to 12 years and shipped in reused packing boxes.

TCL technology for a sustainable lifestyle

Facilitating sustainable living with technology
TCL is committed to helping its customers to develop a sustainable lifestyle and believes that technology should be a facilitator to this challenge. In our major domestic appliance ranges but also in our high-tech goods, we know that technological improvements provide many answers in terms of performance, practicality, and durability.

Ensuring our products’ liability and repairability

The durability of our products through their maintenance is at the heart of our concerns, this is why for example all our washing machines incorporate drum clean technology to ensure optimal hygiene of the laundry and longevity of the machine.

Encouraging the sustainable use of our products

The support towards a more sustainable daily life goes beyond the direct durability of our equipment. For example, when we choose to integrate auto-weight and honeycomb crystal drum technology on all our models,we allow everyone to limit water and energy consumption related to laundry care but also to keep.

Energy saving thanks to TCL products

At TCL, we do believe that technology is at its best when it addresses the crucial issues of sustainability in our lifestyles. For example, food preservation is the number one barrier to food waste, and at TCL, we also know that some answers can be found in the natural properties of certain materials. The Automatic Anion-Releasing Technology (AAT) built into many models of our fridges uses the natural properties of tourmaline to spontaneously and continuously release large numbers of negative oxygen ions that form a natural cold chamber in the refrigerator. Likewise, almost all our models incorporate multi-air flow technology, which provides even cooling and prevents frosting: properties that are beneficial to both better food preservation and energy savings.

Eco-mode to reduce the TV impact

TCL televisions embody the revolution of connected uses. Aware of the growth and multiplicity of these uses, TCL has also integrated into its devices the possibility of reducing the impact of their use: an "eco" mode makes it possible to enjoy a qualitative image and sound experience while limiting energy consumption. In the same way, televisions are equipped with a mode allowing the user who simply wants to listen to music or the radio to enjoy the exceptional sound of his television without turning on the picture. Whatever their mode of use, the televisions are programmed to switch off after 4 hours without any intervention from the user.

Finally, a more sustainable living also relies on many small gestures that TCL is committed to encouraging in the relationship we build with our consumers. Turning off devices when not in use, sorting product packaging, returning used devices for recycling, offering online user and installation manuals... These are just a few of the small initiatives that make our collective action meaningful.

Economical & green packaging

Economical use of packaging materials

TCL Electronics adopts green and innovative requirements to examine the packaging materials and methods of its products to reduce the use of hazardous raw materials. We promote the application of more healthful and green air column coil packaging materials.

In contrast, the air column coil packaging materials which are made of polyethylene and nylon are safer because the cushion of the air column coil is formed with the help of air and they are odorless and non-toxic. Also, the materials can be ablated and gasified in a specific environment, while traditional EPS is difficult to be recycled or decomposed naturally.

TCL Electronics tries its best to use harmless, pollution-free, renewable and green packaging materials instead of plastic packaging materials and wood packaging materials to provide more modern, economical, durable and green packaging solutions. In addition, the paper packaging materials we use can lessen the weight and volume of our products, increase the number of containers, and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation of goods. We require the suppliers to properly recycle and reuse the packaging paper cartons, cardboards and plastic turnover boxes when providing raw materials and products to the Company, which effectively reduces the consumption and waste of packaging materials.

2022 : Taking the environmental dimension of our packaging a step further

While we boost the capabilities and performance found within our products, we are aware that what’s on the inside and outside of our TVs needs to be designed conscientiously. We’ve always designed our packaging with safety, fit, and the environment in mind but in 2022 we’ve challenged ourselves to go above environment requirements and recycling regulations. From now on, we have decided to design and use only kraft packaging without glossy effect and too many colours to avoid using glue but also to limit ourselves to one white ink colour to ensure less or no chemical pigments are used.

TCL Electronics actively responds to the call for energy conservation and emission reduction. We not only reduce material waste through continuous R&D and innovation of materials but also actively use green materials to reduce the emission of pollutants in the process of product manufacturing and processing.
