TCL is proud to have earned the EPA’s first Special Sustainability Leadership Award for creating innovative recycling solutions for Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic. TCL received the award during a ceremony held on March 30.
2020 was a year of challenges, adversity, and change for electronics recycling. With public events and social gatherings on-hold during the pandemic, the TCL Sustainability Team had to completely re-think how to get electronics recycling events safely and conveniently back in communities.
TCL created a unique formula that became the TCL Take-Back Tour, bringing together municipalities and recyclers with cities and towns across America, enabling recycling to continue conveniently, safely, and free to all participants.
TCL's efforts to be environmentally conscious are getting noticed. The company was once again honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its significant contributions to sustainable electronics recycling solutions.
For the fourth consecutive year, TCL North America was presented with the Gold-Tier Award in the EPA’s Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) Electronics Challenge for the company’s commitment to electronics recycling throughout the United States.
The EPA annually recognizes a select group of leaders in the electronics industry that rethink business as usual and work to create inventive and responsible solutions. The company’s innovative sustainability activities, a key pillar of the TCLcares program, enables 100% of the electronics to go to certified recyclers.
