Children from The Wooden Floor nonprofit in Santa Ana to serve as beneficiaries of shopping spree
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that members of the National Hockey League (NHL) Club and the Lady Ducks (wives and significant others of Ducks players, coaches, broadcasters and management) will host a shopping spree for over 15 local youth at Target in Irvine Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. The beneficiaries of the shopping spree are students currently enrolled in programs at the Santa Ana-based nonprofit organization, The Wooden Floor. In celebration of the holiday season, Ducks Players and the Lady Ducks will treat children from low-income families to gifts that otherwise would not have been possible.
Anaheim Ducks partner TCL, one of the world’s best-selling electronics brand and America’s fastest-growing TV brand, will also participate in making the holidays brighter for The Wooden Floor youth and their families. Each child will go home with a 40” TCL Roku TV, featuring stunning high definition resolution and seamless access to over 500,000 streaming movies and TV shows, as well as a pair of TCL headphones with exceptional sound and wireless Bluetooth connectivity.
Target is located in the Irvine Spectrum at 115 Spectrum Center Drive, Irvine 92618. For additional details and to R.S.V.P. to the event, please contact Keren Lynch in the Anaheim Ducks communications office (Klynch@anaheimducks.com).
ABOUT THE WOODEN FLOOR
Founded in 1983, The Wooden Floor is one of the foremost creative youth development nonprofit organizations in the country. We transform the lives of young people in low-income communities through the power of dance and access to higher education. In Orange County and through national licensed partners, we use a long-term approach grounded in exploratory dance education to foster the confidence and gifts within each child to innovate, communicate, and collaborate – skills necessary for success in school and in life.
100 percent of students who graduate from The Wooden Floor immediately enroll in higher education. Our students become change agents and beacons of hope within their own families, their neighborhoods, our community, and our world.
