TCL has been a proud partner of the Anaheim Ducks for the past three years. In that time, we’ve worked with the team in many ways to give back and make a positive impact in the community we serve, which is an important pillar of #TCLcares.
Last week, TCL and the Ducks teamed up yet again to enhance a local educational attraction. Situated in the heart of Orange County, California, the Discovery Cube is a science museum dedicated to giving kids a unique learning experience through interactive exhibits covering a spectrum of scientific studies.
We were excited to give a tech refresh to a mainstay destination inside the Discover Cube, the Science of Hockey exhibit. Together with the Ducks, we’re excited to help draw visitors into the space and advance hands-on science fun. As we all know, there is no better way to capture a child’s attention than through a digital screen!
TCL donated smart TVs to enrich instruction within the exhibit and provide more interactive ways for visitors to learn. With these TVs, visitors are getting the chance to understand the science behind the game of hockey, and what it takes to run a successful hockey team!
Now enhanced by TCL technology, here are just a few of the attractions you can see at the exhibit TODAY!
- Shoot and Save Challenges – Grab a stick or a goalie mask and gloves and put your senses to the test. The first station lets participants shoot a puck towards a virtual goal where metrics like velocity and force are measured. The second station puts participants in front of a goal where a puck will shoot towards them giving them a chance to make an epic save.
- Coaches Corner – This cozy section of the exhibit looks at all the things that coaches need to prepare for when working with a hockey team. From the team nutritionist to the head athletic trainer, participants get an inside look into all of the ways that athletes need to train their bodies for peak performance on the ice.
- Off Ice Official – The perfect blend of sports and technology can be found here. This section of the exhibit looks at all the technical details involved for referees to make the right call to keep competition fair throughout the season. From the call on the ice, to referees with instant replay technology at the NHL headquarters, participants see what goes into making those calls.
Whether you are Southern California local looking for a day of education and fun, or a hockey fan coming into town to watch a Ducks game at the nearby Honda Center, be sure to stop by the Science of Hockey exhibit which has something for every fan!
