College football fans braved high heat, rain, and even lightning storms over the weekend to catch the UCLA Bruins’ season opener against the Texas A&M Aggies. What they ended up seeing was a stunning and improbable comeback by the Bruins, who won 45-44.
Prior to the game, Bruins and Aggies fans stopped by the TCL eSports Gaming Lounge to watch live football, play Madden NFL on Xbox, and greet some very special guests.
At the first stop on the Wendy’s College Tailgate Tour, TCL’s eSports Gaming Lounge provided the perfect venue for fans to relax and have fun before the big game. In addition to enjoying plenty of gaming action, fans were given a chance to win a 55” P-Series, the ultimate gaming TV.
UCLA’s all-time leading rusher Johnathan Franklin visited alongside Donovan Carter, former UCLA Bruins defensive lineman and current star of HBO's new hit series Ballers. They each took turns throwing TCL Game Time T-Shirts out to eager fans from above the eSports Gaming Lounge. They then joined fans downstairs for pictures, interviews, and even some gameplay.
Later in the afternoon, Aggies fans were treated to the arrival of Josh Reynolds, former Texas A&M star and current wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams.
As the afternoon came to an end, Bruins and Aggies fans made their way inside the Rose Bowl for what turned out to be an exciting and unexpected game! The Bruins were down 44-10 late in the third quarter but rallied for a historic comeback win.
Stay tuned for more as we continue our Tailgate Tour when Oklahoma takes on Ohio State on Sept. 9.
