Reporting to the SVP, Sales & Marketing, the Director - Home Comfort will be responsible for building out TCL’s go-to-market strategy within the U.S. market for the Home Comfort category (Window AC, Through Wall AC, Portable AC, Mini Split AC, and Dehumidifiers). This position will have P&L responsibility and will cross-functionally influence and partner with Product Management (US & China), Sales, Marketing, SCM, and Channel Partners to best position current and future product offerings.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Leadership – P&L responsibility and strategic influence over the development and implementation of a comprehensive Sales and Marketing strategy that will empower the TCL sales team with the products, market knowledge, and tools needed to achieve sales targets, market share growth, and profitability.
  • Go-To-Market Strategy – Lead in the development of the company’s Sales and Marketing strategy (pricing, promotions, channel strategy, marketing programs) with the goal of increasing sell-through of current inventory within existing channel partners, onboarding new channel partners, and partnering with the TCL Product Team to define new products and/or features that will give TCL a competitive advantage in the US market.
  • Product Planning – Develop a strong relationship built on trust with the Product Development and Product Management teams based in the US and China. Clearly communicate the features, functions, and pricing requirements for future products and provide justification when necessary to support critical decisions that position TCL with the best ROI.
  • Market Analysis – Identify opportunities for growth within the competitive landscape through utilization of Consumer Insights, third-party research, and through meeting with key decision makers at retailers such as Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, and Lowes to gain insight into buyer personas.
  • Business Development – Partner with TCL leadership to define short-term and long-term plans that will bolster the TCL brand, product assortment, and competitive advantage within the Home Comfort category. Develop account specific plans dedicated to displacing the competition and onboarding new channel partners organically and/or through strategic acquisitions.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Services, Product Management, and Logistics. Ensure that each department is fully informed and aligned with the business plan for Home Comfort.
  • Brand Ambassador – Represent TCL at Industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings. Promote the brand’s value, products, and services to enhance awareness and reputation.
     

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must possess a General Management mindset and have a history of success building out and delivering go-to-market strategies within the Home Comfort (Window AC, Through Wall AC, Portable AC, Mini Split AC, and Dehumidifiers). category
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success managing P&Ls, Pricing, and Budgets to best position an organization in a profitable manner that meets and/or exceeds company financial objectives.
  • A strong background in the development of strategic and tactical Sales strategies will be critical to the success of this position. The ideal candidate will have a history of success influencing line reviews, sell-in, and sell-through activities for National and Regional accounts across the US region.
  • Demonstrated success conducting market/competitive research directly and via third-party resources with the goal of identifying product line gaps within the competitive landscape, new technology/feature adoption, and channel partner needs.
  • Strong communication capabilities, both written and verbal, with attention to detail. These attributes will be critically important when communicating with Product Development/Product Management teams based in the US and China to define future products and services for the US region.
  • Broad functional experience and the ability to influence deliverables from a wide variety of cross-functional teams.
  • High energy and self-motivated professional that possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to build a business.
  • This position will require up to 40% travel.
